All things truffle in Canberra

Truffle seems to be the word on everyones lips, especially mine! I have always been obsessed with truffle dishes but have never been game enough to buy one.

Canberra has so many awesome truffle events, supporting the truffle festival (June - Augusts). You have to taste your way through Canberra and their truffle dishes. So be sure to check out the truffle festival schedule and book your next dinner or lunch at one of the many restaurants in Canberra that serve TRUFFLE.

A couple of weekends ago I went to the truffle festival (weekend) at Westfield Belconnen. I was delighted by The Pop Inn (a pop up wine bar) eating my way through truffle infused cheeses (Australian cheddar and a Spanish brie). Keep a look out on Westfield Belconnen event page as they always have great family events to go to.

Last weekend the QT Hotel invited Paul and I on a truffle hunt at The Truffle Farm. It was a great thing to do on a Sunday afternoon. Leisurely walking the field, watching Willow (the choc Labrador) find the decadent truffles, I even dug one up!

I learnt so much about the farm and how much effort goes in to training the dogs. I can now really appreciate the time and dedication it takes to growing and finding these truffle. Restaurants from New York start bidding wars on these truffles! The highest bidder gets to cook with them at their swanky restaurants, it's incredible - some sell for $1000s!!

I highly recommend booking your next breakfast or lunch at the The Truffle Farm, it's a nice change from the foreshore and the city cafes.
