My experience at Cryospa Canberra was a good one. I’m glad I went - I was a little hesitant at first as I didn’t know what to expect. I worked my as off at the gym last week as I wanted to test the theory behind using Cryotheraphy.
It was fun, I got the giggles hard. The liquid nitrogen had a super chilling effect, it was a weird sensation. My body temperature got down to minus 153 degrees celsius. It didn’t hurt, it was just very cold.
As soon as I stepped out of the Cryospa (AKA cold caldron) I tested to see if my inner thighs and buttocks were sore. I promise, I felt no more stiffness! I couldn’t believe it. This was because cryotherapy promotes faster muscle recovery. By exposing the body to extreme cold temperature for a short period of time the rate at which oxygen-rich blood flows through muscles in the body is significantly increased. It had flushed out all the toxins.
Post treatment, I experiencing a clear mind, light legs and an endorphin rush which provided me with a sense of euphoria.
It gave me confidence to know that everyone (pro football payers) are using cryotherapy! Le Bron James and Christiano Ronaldo (has one at his house). I am not an elite athlete so I wouldn’t need to spa often but if I were to be experiencing some major stiffness or desperate to get a log-like-sleep, I could just book myself in for a session.
I fully believe in taking care of your body, I could feel the health benefits straight away with my legs no longer being sore, I must mention that night I slept like a log!
