Mother's Day gift idea - A weekend away and a delectable high tea

Mother's Day is around the corner and if you love your mum oh-so much, you should organise something a little different- like a weekend away!!

We all love getaways with our partner but why not get away with your mum for Mothers’ Day.

Last week mum and I went to Sydney for a mother/daughter getaway for Mother’s day. We had such a lovely time eating and shopping our way through Sydney City.

We were lucky to stay at the Sofitel Hotel on Wentworth street, a five star luxury hotel with a French twist, it was truly decadent (definitely well-deserved by us). With every hello that we said, we were greeted with “Bonjour”. We could have easily mistaken where we were for Paris (I digress).

We thoroughly enjoyed our delightful high tea in the Garden Court. It was the perfect setting with so many delectable treats to choose from. With an array of sweet and savoury delicious treats, we indulged in each flavour from packed salmon baguettes to ruby red macaroons - perfectly paired with Mumm Champagne! (One of my faves) We ate with our eyes, we laughed and shared stories (from when we both were much younger ;)) while we soaked up the French elegance.

I had a wonderful weekend away with you mum, I loved listening to your stories. It brought back some warming memories, especially the fond memories of you playing Fleetwood Mac and Elvis on the record player while we cleaned the house.

Next time when you’re planning a getaway, think about taking your mum. We had such a lovely time bonding over the weekend.

Make a Mother's Day booking for high tea or a night’s stay.

What are your plans for Mother's Day?
